This policy explains what 8V Digital (a brand of AshtaVinayak Technologies, "we", "us") collects when you visit 8vdigital.com, why, and what choices you have. We're based in Gurugram, Haryana, India, so this is written primarily around India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). If you're visiting from the EU/UK, the same principles apply and we honor equivalent GDPR rights on request.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the site and the choice you make in the cookie banner:
- A visitor identifier — a random token in a cookie, only after you accept tracking in the cookie banner. It recognizes repeat visits from the same browser; it's not linked to your real identity unless you separately give us your name/contact details.
- Pages you visit — path and referring page, timestamped, tied to that visitor token. Only logged after you accept the cookie banner.
- AI assistant chat transcripts — messages exchanged with the on-site chat widget, tied to that same token. Only logged after you accept the cookie banner; if you decline, the chat still works, it just isn't saved on our end.
- Information you submit — name, email, phone, company, and anything else you type into a contact form or hand over in chat when requesting a callback. Always saved when submitted, regardless of your cookie choice — you're actively giving it to us to act on, not being passively tracked.
Why we collect it
To respond to enquiries, follow up on leads with relevant context (what you looked at or asked about, so we don't make you repeat yourself), and to understand which pages and solutions people find useful so we can improve the site.
Who it's shared with
- Web3Forms — delivers form submissions to us by email.
- Vercel / Neon — hosts the site and the database this is stored in.
- Your CRM destination, if configured — when a webhook is set up, new leads forward automatically to the CRM or tool we use for sales follow-up.
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it beyond what's listed above.
Cookies
The cookie banner controls the visitor-identifier cookie described above. Declining doesn't limit anything you can do here — forms and the chat work exactly the same either way.
How long we keep it
Visitor activity and chat transcripts: up to 24 months of inactivity, after which they're deleted. Lead/contact submissions: kept until the enquiry is resolved and for a reasonable follow-up period after, or until you ask us to delete them — whichever comes first.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information at any time by emailing us. Under the DPDP Act, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India if you're not satisfied with our response.
